"Buying the War," hosted by PBS's Bill Moyers, is a new, must-see video. Interviews with Dan Rather, Tim Russert and Bob Simon are just a few of the highlights. The video puts the spotlight on the actions of pundits/journalists and the media under a truth microscope.
"Buying the War" brought home the realities that many now face about the media in the pre and post 9/11 era. Point by point, Moyers did the legwork, the back-end work, the actual "source" work for the video. He details why he believes opinion-mongering replaced journalism in events leading up to the Iraq war. Now, the hope is that all will learn a valuable lesson, especially, budding, young journalists wishing to embark in a career of truth seeking in news reporting.
